  1. Eight activists helping migrants cross brutal desert charged by US government

    Eight humanitarian volunteers who help migrants survive desert treks have been charged with federal crimes, prompting fears of an escalating crackdown by the Trump administration.

    The volunteers, all members of the Arizona-based group No More Deaths, appeared in court on Tuesday charged with a variety of offences including driving in a wilderness area, entering a wildlife refuge without a permit and abandoning property—the latter an apparent reference to leaving water, food and blankets on migrant trails.     Keep Tucson Together is an all-volunteer-based legal clinic that helps people stop deportation, stop the separation of families in Southern Arizona. We have two clinics that happen every month around Tucson, the first clinic we have is at Pueblo High School every Thursday night at 5:30-7:30pm in the school cafeteria. The second clinic we have is at Southside Presbyterian Church every first and third Saturday of the month from 2-5pm.

    Help with: preparation for an immigration court hearing by Asylum, Cancelation of Removal, also help on applying for DACA.

    No More Deaths is a group of people working to end the death and suffering of migrants caused by the militarization of the border between Mexico and the US. Meetings in Phoenix take place on the first and third Monday of the month.

    These meetings are open and public. We encourage everyone in the community to come and contribute time and energy to this movement.

    We meet at Central United Methodist Church, 1875 N. Central Avenue, Room 103 (just north of McDowell on east side of Central).
