Returning Desert Aid Volunteers

Thank you for your interest in coming back to volunteer with us!

If you are local to Southern Arizona and have volunteered with No More Deaths previously, a returning volunteer application is required if you have been absent from Desert Aid for a year or more.

If you are an out of town volunteer who has spent a month or more with us in the desert, a returning volunteer application is mandatory for your return to Desert Aid.

If you have previously been out in the desert with us for 1-3 weeks, we encourage you are eligible to apply as a returning volunteer.

**Please respect our process and do not apply through our returning volunteer application if you do not meet the above criteria.

Volunteer opportunities:

  • Returning volunteers will largely be staffing our humanitarian aid camp, because our need for camp coverage is high right now.
  • We have restructured the way we do water drops. If you are interested in supporting in this way, please indicate that in your application.
  • Returning volunteers are able to go out as their schedule allows vs. committing to camp on a week-by-week basis. Most current local Desert Aid volunteers go out for anywhere from 5-20 days a month.

COVID-19 UPDATE: Please review our FAQs prior to applying.

If you have previously been out in the desert with us for a month or more or are a local volunteer who has been absent from Desert Aid for a year, please fill out a returning volunteer form here. Applications will be viewed and notification of a decision will be sent to you within two weeks of your submission.

You may also fill out a returning volunteer form for the search and rescue team here.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact the volunteer coordinator.
